The terms of being yourself
Terms of Service
Last updated: September 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of getresonance.space and the Selfsame
private beta. By using the product, you agree to these terms.
Selfsame is operated by GetResonance Inc., a corporation incorporated
under the Canada Business Corporations Act, based in Ontario, Canada,
and these terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada.
1. What Selfsame is
Selfsame gives you private, plain-language descriptions of patterns
relevant to your life and work. It does not present a score, ranking,
type label, job recommendation or comparison with other people.
2. What Selfsame is not
-
Not a clinical or diagnostic tool. It is not
validated as a psychometric instrument and should not be treated as
one.
-
Not a hiring or screening tool. Selfsame is not
built, licensed, or intended for use by an employer, recruiter, or
agency to evaluate a candidate without that candidate's direct
knowledge and involvement. If you're a candidate, you may choose to
generate and share your own report as a conversation aid, but it may
not be used to score, rank, shortlist, reject, or make an employment
decision about you.
-
Not a substitute for professional advice. Nothing in
a Selfsame read should be treated as medical, psychological, legal, or
financial advice.
2a. Prohibited use: employer-run or third-party screening
This section is a binding restriction, not a description. No individual,
employer, recruiter, staffing agency, API user, or other third party may
use Selfsame, its outputs, or any data derived from it to:
-
Generate, request, or commission a read about a candidate, employee,
or any other person without that person directly initiating and
controlling the process themselves.
-
Screen, rank, score, shortlist, or filter candidates or employees, in
whole or in part, using Selfsame outputs.
-
Integrate Selfsame into an applicant tracking system, hiring pipeline,
or any automated or semi-automated employment decision process.
When recipient sharing is enabled, a candidate may voluntarily share
their own report with a specific recruiter or employer only as a
candidate-controlled conversation aid. The recipient must accept the
Recipient Terms before viewing it and may not use it to score, rank,
shortlist, reject, or make an employment decision. Violation of this
section is grounds for immediate termination of access, in addition to
any other remedy available at law.
3. Accuracy and limitations
A Selfsame read is a limited description, not a verdict. Automated
language can be incomplete or inaccurate, and no read is a complete
account of who you are.
4. Your account and your data
-
You retain ownership of any material you upload and of the read
generated from it.
-
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any
time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
-
You are responsible for the accuracy of any material you upload, and
for having the right to upload it (for example, not uploading
conversations that reveal another identifiable person's private
information without their knowledge).
- Our Privacy Notice explains what is processed, retained and deleted.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
-
Use Selfsame to generate a read about someone other than yourself
without their knowledge and consent.
-
Attempt to manipulate a read, including by uploading fabricated or
misleading material intended to produce a flattering but inaccurate
result.
-
Use the service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that could harm,
disable, or overburden it.
6. Private beta access
Beta access may be changed or withdrawn and is
provided for Canadian adults testing their own reads. The current beta
is free. Selfsame will not charge you unless a future paid service is
offered with clear pricing and you expressly agree to it first.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Selfsame and its operator are
not liable for decisions made based on a Selfsame read, including
decisions made by third parties who receive a read shared with them by
the person it describes. The product is provided "as is," without
warranty of any kind.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes will
be presented before they take effect when renewed consent is required.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to
hello@getresonance.space.
These terms support a limited Canada-first beta. Employment-adjacent
expansion or a United States launch requires a separate legal and
privacy review.
